Kitchen Chimney 2015-05-14T12:31:14+00:00

Was just browsing the net for some guide on installing chimneys when I came across your article which was the most articulate and helpful post amongst the many. So was really glad when I found that you were reachable for further guidance.
We have recently moved into our newly bought home the kitchen has a pre-existing loft due to which the space between the cooktop and the roof is very less. Your article has clearly mentioned that the gap between the cooktop and the base of the chimney has to be not less than 26″. But the total space that I have between the top of my cooktop and the underside of the loft is around 38″. What kind of chimney do u suggest I could use?? Most of the chimneys that I saw have long ducts with big hoods. Am not sure if these can be used in my kitchen. All the salesmen try to convince me saying that it would not pose a problem. Kindly guide me on what kind of chimneys/ models that I could use..

Many Home Owners & specially designers look forward for more space above Kitchen platform. Modern design can be beautifully created using chimney/hoods with big funnel like shape. These are designer hoods. Most homes dont allow or rather don’t have much space for keeping designer hoods. In your case you should take advantage of available space.

Go for it a designer chimney/hood. It will make your kitchen attractive. The gap which we are talking about is from the top of burner/cooking ware to bottom of hood.
