Can I apply Wall Paper on a painted walls

Home owners from all over India, call & email ContractorBhai.com regarding their queries about renovation. When it comes to Renovation – one common concern people have is that “Does wall paper stick on a wall with old Paint ?” So if your wall was painted few years back, now can i right-away apply wall paper on it ? And what if paint has chipped off from some places, can i still put wall paper on top of it ? ”

Well, It is a painted wall, that means the primer coat has been applied and then the wall must be painted. Do not worry for the paint coming out from places, because this can be rectified by applying primer coat again at chipped areas. Now the wallpaper can be installed to your wall. What is important is the primer base, which we surely take care of. There is no headache of getting the paint removed or sanding the wall again.

Even if your Wall has some Glossy Paint, don’t worry for that too. Be it luster, glossy, plastic or oil painted wall, wallpaper can be installed to any kind of painted wall. The wall needs to be primer coated before painted. Primer acts like a base to wallpaper which doesn’t absorb water. This property of primer helps wallpaper to be installed easily.

I have recently painted my wall and given three coats. I am not at all satisfied with the work on one of the walls at all. It is a 8*9 wall and it is of the hall of my new apartment. Is it possible to do vinyl wall paper on it now and how much would it cost. I stay in Bangalore.
