There is a big difference between commercial plywood and marine plywood, not only quality-wise but also in features and in cost too.

i. Commercial Plywood is moisture resistant plywood that is it can endure some amount of moisture and humidity. It doesn’t mean it is waterproof. Whereas Marine plywood is 100% waterproof plywood. Therefore Marine plywood is specifically used for marine applications.

ii. Commercial plywood is usually used to make furniture for homes, office, hotels, etc. It is also used to create partitions, panels, etc. for interior purposes. Marine plywood is typically used for marine applications i.e. to build ships and boats where plywood is exposed to water. Marine plywood is sometimes used to make kitchen furniture too.

iii. Commercial plywood is cheaper than and not as strong as marine plywood.
