Its very essential that every home owner, before making the final down payment on home, inspect various aspects. We often tend to check every detail of phony things. But to know the state of your eventual homes, you need to inspect every detail for any hidden flaws.

So what shall be inspected, Electrical, Flooring, Walls, Ceiling? Yes, all these features are essential to be inspected,  but the number one if this priority list should be Plumbing. Plumbing lines are now concealed at walls which are not visible to eyes. Therefore its a must to have plumbing inspection done in new homes.

Pointers to Plumbing Inspection before you take a final call on home.

Inspect for any Leaky Faucets and Shower-heads 

Leaky faucets and shower-heads leads to wastage of water.  If not fixed on soon, the leakage can get worse with time. It is always a good idea to check all the faucets and fittings in bathroom as well as kitchen-n-dry balcony for any leaking faucets.

Check for clogged drains

Check the flow of water. Open every faucet to maximum flow and examine if water flows down the sink or bathroom drain holes rapidly. If there is delay in water been drained, it means the drains or sinks are clogged. There could be a built-up dirt, cement other debris in pipes too.

To avoid serious maintenance issues, get your drains holes, sinks etc, unclogged before you plan to shift to your new homes.

Inspect for all Exposed Pipes

Plumbing pipes are mostly concealed these days. But look carefully for pipes that can be seen. Look for any cracks or poo plumbing installation. How do you know if there are cracks in plumbing pipes? Look for any stains on wall near plumbing pipes or water accumulation is near by area. Again, get all plumbing matters rectified to avoid any major issues.

Inspect Sink-Joints/ Grouting 

Inspect all areas where Kitchen sink, Wash Basin and other plumbing fittings are installed. These joints of installation areas are termed as grouting. Grouting material has to be have high strength, effectual and be non-shrinkable.  If not, the water will travel along the floor mortar bed causing eventual dampness and seepage problems in bathroom. It could also affect lower occupants ceiling wall too.

Imagine what a hell lot of problems and cost would you have to go through if not rectified on time.

Examine Toilet Installations

Loom for any leakage near toilets. Know the reasons for leakage if any. Leakage near toilets are often due to improper installation of WC or lack of gasket.

What if Toilet Gasket? Toilet tank Gasket helps create a seal between toilet tank and toilet bowl, so that water can can pass through the plumbing. Gaskets are usually made of rubbery material. Well, leakage in toilet tank gasket or toilet could be due to various reasons. We would suggest you to get it checked and rectified by a skilled plumber.

Inspect the Flushing

Flush and check if the water goes down the trap without any delay and no leftovers. If this doesn’t happen, the toilets are clogged which can be quite problematic if not rectified.

Inspect Faucet Aerator

Faucet Aerator are smallest part but serve considerable purpose. Faucet aerator’s break up faucets water flow into to smaller streams. Faucet aerators are designed to act as water filters and water savers too. Poor quality Faucet aerators or improper installations could hamper water flow and filtration too.
