Tip 1) use branded Primer

Use primer if branded quality. Asian paints & Nerolac primers are pretty common in Indian homes. Dot let your painter use low quality primers.

Tip 2) 3 hands of lambi putty

It takes less then day to do lambi putty for a small home. By the time one side of the home eye enough time to dry, painter can finish other side if the home. A hand of lambi putty in summer takes 1-2 hours to dry whereas in rainy season it can take 3-4 hours.

First coat of lambi putty is for leveling. It is the thick most coat that will applied in whole painting process.

In second coat you would apply horizontal & vertical hand to make it better. This will remove any wave like surface from the wall.

Third coat is extremely thin. May or may not get applied all over the place.

Tip 3) 3 coats of colour

In Oil based colour painter can apply only single coat in a day. Paint needs time to dry on the surface. Hence for 3 coat it will take up 3 days. Luster paint which is common with all home owners is oil based.

If the colour was water based then 3 coats can applied in 2 days time.
