We received a call few days back from Gurgaon asking for steps involved in remodeling /renovating the existing bathroom.

Renovating Bathroom or entire house is a stepwise process. Following is a stepwise procedure followed to renovate the bathroom.

  1. Size – Firstly we/ any contractor need to know the size of the existing bathroom. Then your requirement for the new bathroom shall be shared with contractor.
  2. Wall – If the existing bathroom is smaller n wanna bigger combined toilet-bathroom, then the wall needs to be broken and a new wall needs to be built up. And if vice-versa i.e. is the bathroom is big and want a smaller one, then a wall simply needs to be created.
  3. Plastering – To create a new wall for smaller bathroom, plastering would be and where a wall has to be shifted, then tiles, door and wall would be firstly broken and plastering would take place.
  4. Door and frame – Then the door and door frame are installed. These days you can choose from different materials like Marble, Granite, Fibre, Wood, etc.
  5. Plumbing – Once the door and frame work is done, changes in bathroom plumbing takes place depending on its size and req. There are Italian pipes, fittings and bathroom accessories that are quite in trend these days. Also you have several other brands to choose from the same. These fittings and accessories are then fitted I the bathroom.
  6. Tiling – Once plumbing work is over, tiles are fitted in the bathroom. Again you have several brands n styles of tiles to choose from, for bathroom that are easily available in the market.
  7. Fixtures – After tiling work, fixtures like commode, bathtub (if req. and enough space) are installed. Now a days it’s a trend to have huge bathrooms which is more like a comfort zone for home-owners. Many home owners request for additional fixtures like Jacuzzi, bar section, library table, separate sections like dry area, wet area, shower area, etc. depending on the space availability and mainly on their budget. Plumbing for this kinda a bathroom changes entirely then. So its best for a home-owner to discuss his requirements before beginning with planning to avoid any last moment difficult changes.
