Find out carpet area of your home. Multiply this by 4. For example if your carpet area is 500 sq. ft. then 500 x 4 = 20000 sq. ft. is your number. Now find out how much does your painter charge you per sq. ft. . In Mumbai for Painters charge anywhere from Rs 26 to Rs 30 per sq. ft. as per situation. hence your cost would come out to be 27 x 2000 = Rs 54,000 . This number is on higher side.
Many Home owners ask why multiple of 4 . 4 represents 4 side of the wall. Then many home owners question, what about Windows, balcony, door etc these areas should get subtracted from the calculation. Well we have not counted your ceiling which will also get painted. Right ? Hence multiple of 4 comes out to be pretty close to the actual cost.
However any Painter would finally take measurements & then give you final BILL with exact number of work done.

Nitin if we use PVC panels for walls…what is the cost raneg or PVC panels per sq ft.
Secondly if we use PVC panels, then can we do that without plastering. So would these panels save the cost of both plastering and paneling?
Mr Paritosh, I am not sure about actual application of PVC in this case. I have seen people using acrylic panels on wall ,not PVC. I am not sure what material & application you are talking about. Please talk to some expert, I think you should apply coat of primer or some chemical on brick wall before covering it with finish material directly. This is not proven option, so you will need to experiment & see how it goes. Between idea sounds interesting – save on plastering & paneling. We did one room where client wanted one wall to remain as brick wall. We did primer on it, it was left as highlighter. Such experimental ideas are risk prone. In most cases they do not last for years. Either they dont stay functional or you stop liking it.

there are no fix standard rates. its an open market. price are driven by market trend. depending upon skills and quality of work , painters decide their rates. I am unable to give any concrete answer.
Hi whats difference between local painter and Asian paints painting services. Is it justified to pay the premium to Asian paints. !!!
I am unable to answer direct question. any painter that is reasonable(market rate) & has done work in your reference should be preferred. Asian Paints or any other company would try to set standards. However finally, end of the day it completely depends on man who is actually doing work at your place. At the same time avoid painters who quote very low price, because later they will increase the bill or compromise on result.
