When you are planning to get a Modular Kitchen, some of the prime requirements are : place to keep utensils, grain storage, dish stand, cup & saucer stand & cutlery. These are some of the common things all Indian Modular Kitchen consists of.
Additional requirements depends on the client’s need. If they need more space for grain storage or need shutters for containers, those are designed accordingly. If your Kitchen is small in size, then your modular kitchen is planned in such way that it efficiently use all the space.
Requirement of modular kitchen according to different cities of India
As such there is nothing major variation when a Modular kitchen is built in different cities for example Delhi Mumbai Chennai Bangalore. However one thing we have noticed is Southern cities of India give lot more importance to planning. Northern cities like Delhi, Indore think design is free
In South, people still like touch of traditional design. Few prefer Modern modular kitchen with all straight lines. They like to use teak wood with carving on it. Cities like Mumbai, Delhi are more in to Modern modular kitchen.
Kajaria Tiles, is one of the leading brand with varieties & good quality in its products. Other companies like Johnson, Somani Ceramics, Bell Ceramics – are also leading brands of India with good quality.
In non brand companies (also called local brand) – Morbi tiles of Gujarat is famous. Non branded companies are unorganised, do not have fix rules of business, but they are very fast in picking up new things. They do their production of design according to the market demand. Most of the time these companies copy branded designs.
Branded companies are organised & keep their designs available according to the customers demand. Branded companies have latest designs & usually have research & Design department to explore new ideas.
There are various types of marble available in market. Some of the popular ones are: Italian, Makrana, Simple
Each of these again have many sub-types . Price range is also huge. Marble Prices usually vary with place and demand.
For Example: If your house is 500 sq feet with 350 sq feet carpet area. lets say you end up ordering 350 sq feet of Marble for complete flooring. Here’s how you will calculate the cost
Rate of a some type of Italian Marble is Rs. 350/sq.ft
Hence your cost will be 350 * 350 = ~ Rs. 1.20 Lakhs
Alternatively, you can also use Morbonite Tiles which will save yo lot of money. Or you can have combination of both – Marble and tiles.
Now let’s talk about labour cost. Main activities involved in getting new Marble flooring are:
1) Breaking ( if you have existing flooring this will need to be removed)
2) Fitting cutting or Marble
3) Mirror Polishing
I spoke to one Contractor to get rough estimate for Marble flooring for some city like Chennai or Bangalore.
Carpet area of 350 sq.ft ( a typical 1 BHK home )
15 x 350 Sq. Ft = Rs 5250
Fitting, Cutting of Marble With Material
110 x 350 Sq. Ft = Rs 38,500
Rate(Rs. 25) 25 x 350 Sq. Ft = Rs 8750
Total = (5250 + 38500 + 8750) = Rs. 52500
Above Rate for fitting includes material like sand cement and other Material. Does not include Marble cost
Please see: Rates mentioned above are for reference purpose. you may find good contractors who offers different rate.
